ISMPP announces a restructure of its committees to better meet the needs of the profession, the Society and our members. Robert Matheis, President & CEO of ISMPP, shared the news during his President’s Address at the 19th Annual Meeting of ISMPP, April 24-26, 2023, in Washington, DC.
The ISMPP Committee Structure will have the 4 new pillars below, that are intended to achieve practice-focused objectives and meet the distinct needs of key segments in the profession. These new pillars are complemented by the ongoing pillars of Education and Credentialing.

The 2023-2024 ISMPP Committees are shown in the chart below. Three new committees are being introduced: Digital/Visual Communications Committee, Publication Practices Committee, and Small Companies & New Professionals Education Committee. In addition, we are seeking volunteers to promptly express their interest in serving on the ISMPP Academy Program Committee to plan the brand-new ISMPP Academy meeting (formerly ISMPP West), to be held September 28-29, 2023, in Philadelphia. A new Patient Engagement Task Force, as well as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force, are also being formed.

ISMPP Committee Volunteer Drive
May 15 – June 7
For ISMPP members with an interest in volunteering for a committee or the Patient Engagement Task Force, the ISMPP Committee Volunteer Drive will open on Monday, May 15 and run through Wednesday, June 7.
Returning Committee volunteers should be aware that the names of some committees have been modified, and some groups that previously existed as a committee workstream are now a stand-alone committee. In addition, the new Patient Engagement Task Force will be included in the Committee Volunteer Drive.
Members of the new AI Task Force are being identified by selecting individuals with knowledge and expertise in the topic area; therefore, the AI Task Force is not included in this year’s Volunteer Drive. The CMPP Certification Board and Recertification Committee are also not included in the Committee Volunteer Drive.
Many of the committees included in the Volunteer Drive will start their new committee year in August/September 2023. The new ISMPP Academy Program Committee, European Meeting Programme Committee, and Annual Meeting Program Committee will begin their activities over the summer.
