You are a medical publication professional working with a poster author who has been given the option to include an audio recording with an encore poster presentation. The original poster presentation at a major congress included an audio recording. There is concern that while the major congress gives permission for the poster to be encored, the congress does not have permission policies in place allowing for the re-use of the audio recording, for which they hold copyright.
What Would You Do?
A. Change presenters and create a new recording with the new presenter, to circumvent the copyright permission issue from the audio recording for the original poster presentation.
B. Contact the original major congress asking if copyright permission can be granted to re-use the audio recording from the original congress for the encore poster presentation.
C. Digitally rework the original audio recording so that it is changed for the encore poster presentation and, therefore, copyright permission from the original major congress would not be needed.
D. Choose to present the poster without the audio recording to avoid the copyright permission issue from the original congress.
