14th General Assembly and Conference

EASE holds its General Assembly and Conference every two years. This year’s conference will address the general theme, Balancing Innovation and Tradition in Science Editing, and is being hosted by The University of Bucharest, Romania, at the Law School, on June 8-10, 2018.

During the conference, delegates will have the opportunity to hear about the latest developments in science publishing from internationally acclaimed experts, including on such topics as innovations in journal publishing, sex and gender equity in research, reducing waste in research, and data citation. Other sessions will focus on editing a journal, local language vs. English language, ways to improve a journal, and managing peer review. All sessions will allow plenty of time for audience interaction.

A series of workshops before and after the conference will cover statistics, plagiarism, and publishing ethics, which will be of interest to all publication professionals. Two additional workshops will more specifically address the needs of individuals involved in journal management. The program will also include a Welcome Reception in the University garden, exhibition, and poster display.

The conference will cover all areas of science, with medicine probably the most strongly represented. EASE encourages all members of ISMPP to save the date for this exciting conference. Meeting registration is open. More information about the EASE conference is available at: www.ease.org.uk/ease-events/14th-ease-conference-bucharest-2018/
